Hostinger Review - Do Low Prices Come at a High Price?

In 2004, a company was established in Lithuania. Founded in 2004, Hostinger is a small, employee-owned business. However, their reach is really global, as they host 29 million websites in 178 countries throughout the globe.

Initially, they provided fully free web hosting services to anybody who wanted them. The situation has changed, but they continue to take pleasure in offering competitive rates while still integrating sophisticated features for professional-looking web designs.

One of their slogans literally states that they assist you in "saving wisely." According to the findings of this analysis, you may be receiving less value for your money than you believe. Let's get started.

Pricing for Hostinger

As with any web server, be wary of the "door-busting" deal that comes around every now and again. That is the ridiculously cheap price that you will see advertised in large letters on their landing pages and in their advertisements. The amount you pay after 12 months with Hostinger might increase by a factor of ten!

The most important thing to remember about contract renewals is that the fees fluctuate based on how long your first contract was in effect.

As an illustration, consider the Single Plan:

Only $9.49 per month if you pay by the month.

Pay for 12 months at $2.99, then $5.99 a month for the next 12 months.

Pay for 24 months at $1.59 per month, with renewal at $3.99 per month.

Pay for 48 months at $1.39 per month, then $2.99 per month for renewal.

When using Premium, the interface looks like this:

Only $10.29 per month if you pay by the month. Renews at a rate of $10.29 each month

Pay for 12 months at $5.99 per month, then $8.99 per month for renewal.

Pay for 24 months at $3.99 per month, with the option to renew at $6.99 per month.

Pay for 48 months at $2.59 per month, with renewals at $4.99 per month.

Finally, the following is the amount you will be charged for Business:

Only $15.99 per month if you pay by the month. The subscription renews at a rate of $15.99 per month.

Pay for 12 months at $6.99 per month, then $10.99 per month for renewal.

Pay for 24 months at $4.99 per month, with the option to renew at $9.99 per month.

Pay for 48 months at $3.99 per month, with renewals at $8.99 per month.

As a result, you will find pricing offered as low as $1.39 per month, which is true. They have a 48-month contract, which is a very short period of time.

What can you anticipate from each Hostinger package and how much does it cost?

All of the plans will include freebies such as the following:

Installing an application with a single click (for WordPress for instance)

The cache manager is a program that allows you to save data in a cache.

Weekly backups are performed.

Administration of the Domain Name System (DNS)

Live chat is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

On top of that, all plans provide a comprehensive set of tools and developer-friendly features. Cloud Linux, client-side libraries like as Curl and Curl SSL, InnoDB for database administration, and, most crucially, GIT integration for version control are all features that technical users may find appealing.

Hostinger's Advantages and Disadvantages

Pros:

  • It's simple to use: The Hostinger administration panel is easy to browse, with straightforward menus and settings that are well labelled.

  • Affordable first term: The first few months of hosting are offered at a competitive rate. Although renewal fees might rise dramatically depending on the duration of your first contract, if you purchase for a period of 48 months or less, the prices are ridiculously cheap.

  • Extremely generous bandwidth: while it is limitless on the higher-tier plans, even 100 GB on the lower-tier plans is sufficient to handle thousands of visitors every month.

Attractive developer-friendly features: Those who like to maintain control over the technology stack underlying their hosting will discover that Hostinger provides a comprehensive set of tools.

We were really pleased with the results we obtained when we evaluated its speed (see more below)

Cons:

  • Uptime: Hostinger's uptime did not meet expectations. Occasionally, your users may be unable to access your site due to technical difficulties.

  • When it comes to renewing your subscription, beware of confusing pricing. The cost of renewing your contracts is determined by the duration of your original contracts. Keep an eye on the fine print to prevent being charged up to ten times the amount of your original monthly payment.

  • Daily backups are only available under the most costly plan: Creating manual copies of your website is possible, but depending only on weekly backups is a risky strategy to use in this situation.

  • Limit on the number of sites you can host: with the Single plan, you'll be able to host a maximum of one site, and with the Premium and Business plans, you'll be able to host up to 100 sites.

What is the purpose of Hostinger?

A combination of cheap first-term pricing, features, and substantial bandwidth might result in a victory for a project that needs a website for a short period of time (e.g., four years).

However, there is a significant caveat: your website may experience significant downtime. Although this may be sufficient for hobby or side-projects, it is not recommended for serious work.

When should you avoid using Hostinger hosting?

If you need a website with adequate performance, I would recommend that you search elsewhere. If you're looking to save money, keep in mind that the rates skyrocket after 12 months, making it necessary to consider alternatives such as DreamHost or SiteGround, which are somewhat more costly but provide superior performance.
